Real name is Joe Morgan
Backstory:
Once an employee at the coal power plant named Joe Morgan when all things went bad. He became an expert in steam engines and was walking home one day when he was waylaid by baddies. Running away, he fell into a cauldron of foul chemicals. Climbing out, he staggered a ways away before collapsing to die. As he was dying, several condors came up and prepared to eat him. When the first one bit into his flesh, its bio-essence was drained and the life force entered into the dying Joe, along with DNA and a taste for rotting things. He emerged as Condar, the carrion-eating evolver, part man, part condor.
He can take on the DNA and life force of living creatures if his blood comes in contact with their blood (or saliva or what ever). At that moment, his body attaches to theirs drawing out their life force and taking with it characteristics of theirs dominant in their DNA - he can constantly change as a result. If he is nearing death, all he has to do is "recharge" with a certain creature. If he has already merged with one of that type, nothing changes except for restored health. If not, then he will gain some attribute of the creature he absorbed (but not of his control). He does not loose the other traits gained (but can lose more human traits). So, he only eats rotten things (a real dumpster diver).
Should he merge with a cow, he'd still like rotten things but might grow horns, a tail, or udders. He might instead have to "chew the cud" and so constantly regurgitate and chew on rotten things for a while. Were he to merge with a skunk, he might grow pointy teeth or develop stink glands, etc. His mind can take on animalistic characteristics, but his intellect does not change. If he absorbs a cat, he might become more solitary. If he absorbs a dog, he might develop "pack like" tendencies.
